The sad news of the death of Daniel III, the one year old son of singer Dbanj, spread online late Sunday night to the shock of many.
Daniel Oyebanjo III who turned one in May was said to drowned in a pool at Dbanj’s ikoyi residence on Sunday afternoon.
Equally shocked were celebrities some of whom are friends with singer also known as Koko Master.
But by Monday morning a host of celebrities found thier voices and have been sending out heartfelt condolences to Dbanj on social media.
Star actress and Dbanj’s former flame, Genevieve Nnaji was among celebrities who started the rain of condolences.
The actress whose appearance on Dbanj’s Fall In Love video which sent hearts racing years back called on her fans on Instagram to pray for the Koko Master’s family.
“We cannot question God. Rest in peace little angel. Please say a prayer for @iambamgalee and his family”, she said.
Tiwa Savage who replaced her display picture on Instagram with a blank black cover, expressed sadness over baby Daniel’s death.
“I was just holding you last month celebrating your birthday. I am in shock. My heart is broken. This is unbearable”, she posted on her IG page.
R ‘n’ B singer, Banky W took to Instagram to console Dbanj. “Sending prayers to @iambamgalee, his wife and thier entire family. This is a nightmare. Heat wrenching news. May God strengthen and comfort you”, he stated.
Founder of EbonyLife TV, Mo’ Abudu is also one of those who have condoled with Dbanj online. “I am so sorry. There are no words to express the sadness I feel at this moment. The Lord is your strength. May his soul rest in peace”.
Dbanj popularly known as the Bangalee rose to fame with his former partner Don Jazzy, before the two went their separate ways. Over the years, he has won several music awards, including the awards for Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007, Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009.
He also won Best International Act: Africa at the 2011 BET Awards, and Best-selling African Artist at the 2014 World Music Awards, Evolution award at the 2015 MTV Africa Music awards.
