UCL: Ademola In Scintillating Display As Atalanta Defeats Shakhtar Donesk

Ademola Lookman

Nigerian international, Ademola Lookman, gave a good account of himself as his Atalanta side recorded a decisive win over Shakhtar Donetsk in a UCL match.

Lookman played a major role the 3-0 victory of the Italian side as he provided an assist and registered a goal at the Veltins-Arena in Germany Wednesday night.

The Super Eagles player crossed the ball after a short free kick was taken, which met Berat Djimsiti who smashed it past the goalkeeper into the net in the 21st minute.

Former Arsenal player, Sead Kolasinac, cut the ball back into the Shakhtar box. Lookman then slotted it into the net to double their lead in the 44th-minute mark.

Two goals for the away side in the first half weren’t enough to call it a night. Raoul Bellaniva was left unmarked when he nodded home a pin-cross from Davide Zappacosta to seal the win in the opening minutes of the second half.

Tonight’s away win is Atalanta’s first after a goalless draw with Arsenal in Bergamo.

Shakhtar will hope to have a good time at the Emirates in their upcoming fixture on October 22.
