Former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, has declared his bid to run for President on the platform of the Labour party in 2019.
According to Punch, Mimiko made the declaration at exactly 12:15pm, at an event held at the National Secretariat of the Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam-led LP, in Abuja, on Thursday.
The paper quotes the former Ondo State governor as saying, there is a time in the life of a nation when patriots must stand up to be counted.
“I have found it compelling to declare my intension to run for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria “, he was quoted as saying.
Mimiko lamented the wanton killings across the country especially in the middle belt saying purposeful leadership was required to halt the carnage.
