Famous gospel music singer, Mercy Chinwo, has spoken on the ongoing battle between her and her former manager, Eezee Tee.

A tear-eyed Mercy said Eezee-Tee who she once acted as back -up singer to has bullied and threatened for not agreeing to extend her contract with him. She also traced her problems with him to her doing a collaboration with another popular gospel musician, Nathaniel Bassey whom she said Eezee Tee hates.

Mercy in a viral clip also traced her feud with her estranged former manager to her friendship with popular Abuja preacher, Pastor Jerry Eze. This is even as she accused Eezee Tee of sponsoring stories insinuating that her son doesn’t belong to her husband.

She said: “A man claimed I sued him. Came online, made videos to tarnish my image. He looked at me and said, ‘I made you who you are, and I will destroy you.’ I became scared of my life, and it got to a point where I had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt because this man made the environment toxic for me.

“I’ve endured bullying. I’ve endured threats. Whatever he is doing on social media now is nothing compared to what I went through.”

“He took me to court and came online to make public that I took him to court. Here are the documents. You took myself and Minister JudiKay to court, and you’re here playing the victim game.

“You seized my royalties for two years; you are a bully. You’re an oppressor. One of my major crimes was when I did a song with pastor Nathaniel Bassey. Because this man hates Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, you went as far as sponsoring fake news about an innocent child, my son. And you said my son was not my son. And you paid bloggers because you hate Pastor Jerry Eze. You didn’t want me to go for his event. The people you fight, I must fight them with you?”

Recall that in April 2024 that gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey, asked the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to investigate and prosecute four individuals who he said falsely accused him of being the father of Mercy Chinwo’s child.

This was after four social media users alleged that Bassey fathered the son of fellow popular gospel singer, an allegation that went viral on X (formerly Twitter).

These revelations come amidst the ongoing “battle” between Chinwo and Ezekiel Onyedikachi, aka EeZee Tee, the owner of her former record label (EeZee Conceptz).

A statement signed by her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, stated that the relationship between the duo took a “turning point” in 2019 when EeZee allegedly requested to extend her five-year contract to 12 years, which she declined.

“Eezeetee continues to intimidate her, isolating and bullying her, misleading people, inviting her for events about her availability,” the statement read.
