The Senator representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, defied the odds on Tuesday as she landed her hometown despite the warning from the Kogi State police command and the ban of rallies by the state government.
The Senator arrived at a field near her home in a helicopter.

Akpoti-Uduaghan supporters also ignored police warning and threats from government as they thronged Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State on Tuesday to welcome the Senator.
The lawmaker took time to explain her travails to her constituents who shouted words of support frequently. She stressed that she cannot be kept out of Ebira land as she is a true daughter of the soil.
“This is my home, this is my town. Nobody can stop me from coming home. I am the daughter of the late Dr. Abdul Akpoti”, she said.
The lawmaker took time to thank her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan for supporting her at all times and funding her flight to see her people on Tuesday.
Akpoti alleged that the plot to recall her was hatched between the Senate President, Senator Godwill Akpabio and the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello. She also alleged that there are plans to kill her.
“Akpabio told Yahaya Bello he should try and kill me, and he should make sure that the killing me doesn’t happen in Abuja; it should be done here (Kogi) so it will seem as if it is the people that killed me here”, she alleged.
