Benue State Governor Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has said he appointed Afrobeats pioneer, Innocent Idibia, better known as Tuface Idibia as his Special Adviser on Entertainment to discover and promote talented youths in the State.
Alia took to his Facebook page on Thursday to express his happiness on Tuface joining his team.
He wrote: ‘Yesterday, I had the honour of receiving Mr. Innocent Idibia (popularly known as Tuface) and his new wife, Natasha Osawaru, at the Government House, Makurdi.ย
“It was a privilege to engage with such a highly respected and influential figure in the entertainment industry.
“In recognition of his immense contributions to music and his positive representation of our beloved Benue State, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Innocent Idibia as my Special Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach”.
Alia added: “Tufaceโs extraordinary achievements in the entertainment world have earned him not only national but international acclaim. His music transcends borders, and whenever the name “Tuface” is mentioned, people cannot help but smile, dance, and celebrate the rhythm of life!ย
“During the visit, I highlighted how much we appreciate Tufaceโs dedication to supporting our administration and helping to elevate Benue State on the global stage. Itโs no exaggeration to say that his work has had a profound and positive impact on both the entertainment industry and our local communities”.
Governor Alia listed Tuface’s new role to include: Mentoring budding musical talents across Benue State. Showcasing and celebrating our diverse musical cultures, from Etulo to Idoma, Igede, Tiv, and beyond, for local recognition and global appeal. Collaborating with talent managers to nurture and promote Benueโs brightest stars to stardom.
The African Queen singer is also expected to organise an annual talent hunt events and competitions, promoting unity, peace, and growth across the state.
To achieve the objectives set for him, Tuface is to secure funding from government, NGOs, and corporate bodies to support entertainment initiatives and provide opportunities for our youth.ย
“I have no doubt that Tufaceโs wisdom, influence, and passion for the arts will create lasting change in Benue, positively impacting the lives of our people and contributing to the social network of our state.
“I am confident that this collaboration will not only promote talent but also bring our people together, instill hope, and create opportunities for growth, unity, and peace”, Alia said.
Tuface attended the short ceremony announcing his new role with his partner, Natasha Osawuru.
