The Chairman Senate Committee on Army, who moved the motion that led to the Senate resolution, which called on service chiefs to step aside, Senator Ali Ndume, said on Tuesday that he refused to ask for the sacking of service chiefs because of the poor funding for the armed forces.
Ndume told journalists Tuesday evening that his original motion failed to ask for the sacking of the service chiefs because he was aware that the armed forces were grossly ill-equipped.
He said, “The essence of my motion was for the Senate to look into the poor funding of the Military and the need to provide the authorities with more money to acquire additional equipment and personnel.”
