Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, took her place in the limelight in faraway South Korea, where she was decorated with a Doctorate in Humanity (Honoris Causa) by Sun Moon University, Asan, in the Asian country.
A letter conveying the award, which was presented by Professor Hong Young-Shik at the State House, had stated: “I have been directed to notify you, Your Excellency, on the decision of the University to confer on you, a meritorious Doctor of Humanity (Hon. Causa).”
It added: “Your humanitarian activities have caught the attention of the world and the Senate of the Sun Moon University, especially your outstanding work with women and children through Future Assured Programme.”
According to a programme released by the University, Mrs. Buhari would be invested at the International Conference Hall of the University on Monday 13th August, 2018 and would also be invested with a World Leadership Award by Ajou University in Suwon, South Korea for her humanitarian activities on Tuesday, 14th August, 2018. She will also commission a Seminar Hall named after her at the same University.
A palpably elated Mrs. Buhari, who shared photos of the award ceremony on her verified Instagram handle, said: “With gratitude to God for an honour done to me by the governing Council of Sun Moon University, South Korea for being decorated today with a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration (Honoris Causa).
My gratitude goes to the President of the University, Dr. Sun-Jo Hwang and the entire for this honour. I dedicate this honour to all Nigerian women and children”.
