
United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken is currently in Abuja, Nigeriaโs capital.
Blinken, arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 4pm from where he would proceed to Aso Rock Presidential Villa to meet with President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Blinken who is on a four-nation tour of Africa will later depart to Lagos at about 10pm for other engagements scheduled for, Wednesday. He is expected to depart Nigeria for Angola later tomorrow night.
Blinken on Monday said the US is committed to deepening relations with Africa despite global crises as he opened a four-country tour of the continent.
Blinken is touring four democracies on the Atlantic Coast โ Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Angola โ as security deteriorates in the Sahel and doubts grow about a key US base in neighbouring coup-hit Niger.
โWe are all in when it comes to Africa.โ
โOur futures are linked, our prosperity is linked, and African voices increasingly are shaping, animating and leading the global conversation,โ Blinken said as he opened talks in Cape Verde.
โThe United States is committed to deepening, strengthening and broadening partnerships across Africa,โ Blinken said.
