
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen the bank accounts of the Akwa Ibom State government.

According to The Cable, a top official of the Akwa-Ibom State government, disclosed that the anti-graft agency had frozen the accounts of the state.
The Cable further reports that the action of the agency came to Gov. Udom Emmanuel and the state’s Accountant-General as a surprise.
The report of the freezing of Akwa Ibom government accounts comes 24 hours after the commission blocked those of the Benue government.
Spokesman of the agency, Wilson Uwujaren, did not respond to inquiries by not respond to inquiries, The Cable reports.
