Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, on Tuesday, held a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Governor Ortom was, on Saturday, attacked by gunmen while returning from his farm in Tyomu community along Makurdi-Gboko highway.
Condemnation trailed the attack from governors and various groups across the country.
Subsequently, President Buhari had on Sunday ordered security agencies to carry out what he called an “open and transparent” investigation into the attack.
Buhari is of the All Progressives Congress while Ortom is of the opposition People’s Democratic Party.
