She was a woman of many parts and a few times, people found it hard to categorise Pastor Nonnie Roberson. But the flamboyant preacher, who once served as the resident pastor The Revival Assembly Ministries in Abuja, will always say she is first a minister of the gospel. She once said in an interview with this reporter, that her primary assignment is to lead her flock to righteousness. “My primary assignment is taking as many people as I can to the feet of the lord in worship and praise. The other things I do are some form of service to God and mankind.”
Roberson, whose fame grew as the founder of the group, Sisterhood Africa also worked as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Coordinator of the Women For Change Initiative (W4CI) established by former First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan. She joined W4CI based on her conviction that women deserved much better as citizens.
“Though women have made giant strides in many fields of endeavors, the problem of women achieving the targeted share of governmental decision making process is very poor. The gap between men and women representation calls for the creation of urgent sustainable economic and social structures”, she said.
