Nigeria has made its mark again in the global music scene with the induction of soul singer, Sade Adu, and Afrobeat originator, Fela Kuti into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Sade and Fela will be joined by first-time nominees Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.
Celia Cruz and Queen Latifah will receive the Early Influence Award.
On Monday, April 13, the 2026 inductees were announced by Ryan Seacrest and Lionel Richie during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-themed episode of American Idol.
The 2026 inductees in the performer category include Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Sade, Oasis, Wu-Tang Clan and the late Luther Vandross.
Meanwhile, Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Gram Parsons will be honored with the Early Influence Award.
Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller and Rick Rubin will be honored with the Musical Excellence Award.
Ed Sullivan will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
The induction ceremony will take place Nov. 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
